Euromarque Fiat 124 Spider 50⁰ Anniversario & Euromarque Belle Italiane 2016.

Fellow Fiat 124 Spider and Coupe owners,
We’re thrilled to announce some exciting developments in recent weeks:

Canterbury’s European car specialists Euromarque have entered into a joint venture with the Canterbury Fiat-Lancia Club and will underwrite the costs of both Anniversario and Belle Italiane, as part of a greater campaign to launch the new Fiat/Abarth 124 Spider later this year.

Euromarque is Canterbury’s only authorised dealer, service and parts provider for Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Maserati, in addition to pre-owned Ferraris and other premium European motor vehicle brands.

In a recently issued announcement, Terry Milne, Senior Sales Consultant for Euromarque, wrote: “The team at Euromarque are very excited to be involved with the Fiat 124 Spider Anniversario and Belle Italiane 2016 events as Principal Sponsor. “We have been representing many Italian vehicle brands in the Canterbury region for over fourteen years and have enjoyed collaboration with the Canterbury Fiat-Lancia Club over this time. “I’m sure you will agree that with 2016 marking the 50th Anniversary of the Fiat 124 Spider, this event has the makings to be the best yet and we look forward to working alongside everyone involved to create a truly memorable weekend.” Accordingly, the official convention logo and proprietary names of both events have been rebranded, to Euromarque Fiat 124 Spider 50⁰ Anniversario & Euromarque Belle Italiane 2016."

The Christ’s College campus quadrangle has been confirmed as the venue for the public all-Italian.
Since 1856, the college has slowly developed around this central quadrangle, with a mixture of nineteenth century neogothic, turn of the century and late twentieth century buildings. These days, ‘the Quad' is treated with reverence, with students generally not permitted to walk on it – only staff and authorised visitors.

The Quad has recently been host to over 80 Volkswagens around the perimeter, so there should be plenty of room for an effective display of Italian steel, against a background of remarkable architecture. The car display will run concurrent with an exhibition on the central Quad by public arts initiative SCAPE, who install free-to-view art in Christchurch’s central city spaces, showcasing leading national and international contemporary artists. The classic cars/art exhibition model has proven very successful at overseas car displays and we are confident this combination can only increase foot traffic for both events.

The Smits Group, national suppliers of leading international brands of automotive and marine refinishing products, will sponsor a category of the Anniversario convention Awards, to be held at the Quality Hotel Elms, on the evening of Saturday 12th November.

Group spokesperson, Joanne Clark, has confirmed Smits will sponsor Meguiar’s branded car grooming products for an individual category of the awards. “We look at hundreds of applications each year and at this current time we are on board with many events. We are delighted to advise we are keen to jump on board with this one.”

It should be restated that all variants of the Fiat 124 Sport Spider, Spider 2000 or Fiat 124 Sport Coupe were invited to join anniversary celebrations “no matter their individual condition,” so don’t worry, there will be no ‘best of’ category awards. Instead, we’ve come up with some inventive ways to acknowledge participants/cars, which will be judged entirely by your participant peers.
