Then you're on the way to being the owner of an Alfa-Romeo 4C, the car that's going to create queues around the block, jam-up phone-lines and clog-up test-drive appointments. It's the car that's designed to lead Alfa Romeo into its re-invasion of the US market, and to do that, it has to be good.
While it is so squeaky clean and fresh to the New Zealand marketplace, we can't even tell you the sticker-price just yet, but we will say it has a quarter of a million dollar performance level that doesn't require a lottery win to enjoy.
Simply, the Alfa Romeo 4C is everything we've always wanted a lightweight Italian sports car to be and it's the most important Alfa Romeo for a generation.
Transverse mid-engined with an exotic carbon-fibre chassis, it looks the part with all its curves, vents and scoops having function and meaning, and which conspire to create a car of real beauty.
The 4C's engine is a turbocharged 1.7-litre unit with 175 kW and 350Nm, which is sufficient to propel the lightweight 925kg beauty to 100kmh in 4.5 seconds and on to 260kmh if you can find somewhere to do it. If that all sounds like supercar numbers, you're right, that's how quick this baby is.
The added benefit of such a small, efficient power unit in a lightweight environment, is that the car ducks under the 7L/100km mark and emits just 157g/km CO2.
That's on top of providing one of the most biddable modern chassis around, and with Brembo allotted the task of bringing the 4C down to civilised velocities, the Alfa-Romeo stops as quickly as it goes.
It will be stopped for only a very brief period, as we know this wonderful modern coupe which will be followed by an open-topped 'Spyder' version, will be in huge demand.
